Who We Are

Monique Waters

Monique Waters was a student at Wellspring School of Allied Health studying massage therapy when she came up with the idea to create Massage Amani. The word Amani has two origins. One of Swahili origin meaning peace and tranquility and another of Arabic origin meaning desires, aspirations, and wishes. Both of the meanings represent Monique’s vision of creating peace within one’s self and the desire to achieve one’s full potential in health and life.

Monique built upon the knowledge that she had already acquired in her Bachelor’s in Cell Biology degree from KU while at Wellspring. She did this by obtaining a comprehensive knowledge of the mind body connection, learning how the body moves, works, and truly has the ability to heal itself. She believes in alternative forms of medicine.

For years, she has used massage, chiropractic care, exercise, clean eating, and natural products to enhance her own life. Monique is also a certified personal trainer and former figure competitor. Health and Wellness are her life. She wanted the opportunity to share her vision with others and allow them the chance to learn and understand their bodies and grow to love the vessel that houses their souls. It should be treated with the greatest care and respect to preserve it for as long as possible.

To do this, she will continue to offer a great service and continue to engage in community service as much as she possibly can. With this belief, Monique’s hopes to change the lives of as many people as she possibly can.

Kalisha Clemoens-Bennett

I am a graduate of Well Springs School of Allied Health.

My dedication to making a difference in the live’s of others in a natural and therapeutic way keeps me going.

Knowing that I’m providing peace and comfort mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually through touch are the most rewarding aspects of the being a massage therapist.

In my spare time I love spending time with family, traveling, and practicing and maintaining self care.

Quite a few years ago, I embarked upon a personal journey to wholeness and wellness. I have since become a proponent of holistic health and self-care. While a student, I was afforded the opportunity to explore several methods of alternative medicine.

The massage therapy program not only taught me various modalities of bodywork, but dramatically improved my quality of life physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. It has helped my personal relationships with my husband, family, and friends. The knowledge and experience I have gained since becoming a massage therapist has helped me show up as a better version of myself. My passion to help people drives me to encourage and assist others as they travel their own path to health and wholeness.

What They Say

“I cannot emphasize the level of satisfaction and relaxation I experienced at Massage Amani. I received services from Monique and as a result purchased gift certificates for my adult children. They received services from one of the other technicians and were equally as pleased! It’s a rare occasion when you find a full service, friendly, aesthetically pleasing space with excellent energy!”

“I worked with the owner Monique Waters for several years and she’s helped me regain strength and flexibility in my body for which I’ll be eternally grateful. Also received massages from her both at at an event that I hired her for and personally at her studio. The studio is beautiful, it’s relaxing and Monique makes a point in offering top quality on time and listening to her clients. Her professionalism and and science background along with her sense of humor make her and her business very special. Highly recommend her and her studio and all of those working with her.”
